Author Signing Celebrations

A Better Today Books & Boutique’s Author Signing Celebration is a special event where readers have the opportunity to meet an author and get their purchased book signed.

Requested items from the author:

To be eligible to have an Author Signing Celebration at A Better Today Books & Boutique, authors must provide the store with a complimentary copy of the book. The words “Complimentary for A Better Today Books & Boutique” should be written on the inside cover of the book, along with the date, and a signature. All Books must be approved by ABTBB.A 150 word count maximum biography, one headshot photograph, one photograph of the book, and a 100 word count maximum description of the book must be submitted to info@abettertodaybook.store at least 14 days prior to the event.
If ABTBB considers a topic to be too controversial or inappropriate, the book may not be approved for a hosted event.

Author Signing Celebrations includes:

* One hour and thirty minutes of celebration time* A Better Today Books & Boutique staff host* Up to 16 seated guests; with a maximum of 20 in attendance* Event posting on our website and social media page * A flyer displayed in-store
Example celebration schedule: Music and mingle - 15 minutesAuthor speech and reading - 20 minutesQ & A and activity - 20 minutes Book signing and photos - 35 minutes Décor and Food Up to 6 outside balloons can be brought in. Balloons cannot cover in-store items. Décor items cannot be placed on the walls or furniture. Water, cupcakes, and/or fruit are the only food and drink items allowed. Guests can purchase other snacks and drinks in-store. Book Sales Authors should bring at least 25 copies of the books to be sold to A Better Today Books & Boutique at least 48 hours in advance of the event. Authors should sign books after it is purchased through A Better Today Books & Boutique in-store. Authors will be provided with 75% of their total book sales from the event. Payout to the author is remitted using the payment information on file within 48 hours after the event.

Event Details

A Better Today Books & Boutique staff member will be the host of this event and provide announcements as needed. Author speeches should include a reading from an excerpt in the book, an explanation of the author, an explanation of why the book was written, an explanation about the book type, a share of a favorite part of the book, a share about the story setting, a share about the story’s characters, an explanation of what people will find most engaging about the book, and a call to action for purchasing the book in-store during the event. Guests must RSVP for the event on A Better Today Books & Boutiques website at www.abettertodaybook.storeA maximum of 20 RSVP’s can be accepted for each event. Seats will be reserved for the number of RSVP’d guests. Walk-in customers may attend the event impromptu.
